I can’t say it was easy, even now it’s not. But when you do something out of passion, it seems easier to get over all the difficulties.
In a room, in a 30 square meter apartment (which was to serve as my home), the foundations of Dudi Bait were laid. Then I had a cellar where I did the mixes. I didn’t have equipment, I didn’t have people employed, I didn’t have money… But I had a strong love for everything that meant fishing and eating carp. Besides that, I also had a teammate who advised and helped me in all respects (who doesn’t have old people… Thank you Robitu Dorin!). I dreamed and I was confident that a bait can be made to catch carp, in any situation and maybe a little more than others. Money doesn’t do that. Neither the equipment, nor the sales skills, nor the marketing. Passion, knowledge, a lot of study, documentation, a lot of practice and tests, a lot of life time allocated. Maybe all this was more important.
Later, life gave me the most beautiful gift: Sofia. Nice gift, but it confused my plans: it was no longer possible to make production (no matter how small the level was then) with a small child in the house. Good thing there are friends who offer you help when you need it most (thank you Andi!). In an old house, but extremely suitable at that time, Dudi Bait grew up slowly.
Currently, we manage to produce tens of tons of bait, we have distribution in many European countries, partner stores, field testers, consultants in various fields, equipment, automation, dozens of pallets of raw materials, tons of liquids and hundreds of square meters of space … I can’t control them all by myself (no matter how hard I try)! But I have a team I can rely on (thank you dear colleagues!)
We do not know what the future holds. Much has changed in these 10 years. The bait recipes, however, once they passed the tests and entered mass production, did not undergo changes, even if the large volume of raw material and production automation, put some small impediments.
All this time, with the Dudi Bait bait, hundreds of millions of carp were caught, capital catches, records, starting from Romania, to America. The world championship was won twice and podiums were obtained in competitions, regardless of the location where they took place.
All this gives us confidence to continue. We do not produce miracle baits (I did not find the recipe), there are so many other factors that, in addition to bait, influence fishing or carp behavior. But we can commit that we will continue to offer a quality bait, which will help the fisherman to get the best results.
